Comments: The map price (it cost one guinea) is included in the title wreath but a note after the publishers´ imprint states Where may be had the Book of Reference to this Map. Price 5s. This refers to An Index, or, Book of References to the Map of the whole manor and parish of Hendon.  The map is divided by faint lines into 16 sections, and would probably have been folded almost exactly along these to form 16 pages and numbers 1 – 13 (which covers the habitable area) are explained in this index.
The BL copy has the Book of References: Presented by the Author.[1]
