Comments: According to web notes this map could be dated either 1796 or 1797 (presumably because of the two dates on map itself). Cooke was already known to the Boydells (see 6 ), which may explain why they chose him to engrave the map assuming that they were instrumental in its execution and Hills was not only the surveyor but also the American publisher or distributor.
