Comments: The map, which actually covers an area from Italy (in left border) across to Cambodia and Cochin China (touching right border), appears in: Historical Review of the Commercial, Political and Moral State of Hindoostan by Robert Chatfield.
Despite its main title emphasising the commercial and political aspects, the work concentrated very much on the theme of its extended title, namely the Rise and Progress of Christianity in the East, Its Present Condition, and the Means and Probability of Its Future Advancement. The first part covered history and other themes but finished with three significant chapters: XI Victories of the English; XII Review of the state of India; and XIII Of the advantages to the Natives of the British Government. Part Two was concerned with the different religions with a significant amount of the work taken up with the rise of Islam.
